We continued charging up the spring fed stream. I was looking forward to seeing a spring. To my astonishment, Henry showed me a very beautiful flower called a Purple Trillium.

This is a delicate, purple flower perched on the edges of the stream, loving the "rain-forest" humidity and pure, clean mountain air. At the base of this Purple Trillium, you can see many shoots appearing which are called Indian Cuecumber due to their edible root (more later). To properly see the Purple Trillium's flower, you have to lift it up as it hangs downwards.
