Part Five -- Take a Guided Tour Around Our Sixty Acres

This little creature is bright orange, and seems to live very happily in the forest. We ended up spotting a few more Newt's before the day was done.
Here is a good example of a mature Mountain Laurel tree.

The Mountain Laurel share the forest with the "shorter" trees and shrubs, usually under 8 feet high. This next photo shows a typical forest view which includes (in the lower portion of the photo) Mountain Laurel, Rhododendron (usually shorter than the Laurel), and up a little higher, a blooming dogwood...

In the foreground, is the very common Buck Berry shrub which coats the forest floor by the acre.
