Connestee Falls
Connestee Falls are often referred to as a twin waterfall and are a very popular tourist site. Carson Creek and Batson Creek join together to form the actual falls. Access used to be allowed to view the falls from near the base, but new owners have closed the trail leading to that view. Visitors now have to accept the rather unsatifying view. According to legend, the 110-foot falls are named after an Indian princess who fell in love with an Englishman but leapt to her death at the falls when the Englishman returned to live with his own people instead of staying with her.
Directions: From Brevard, drive 5.7 miles south on US 276 to a paved parking area on the left. Look for the "View Falls Here" sign.
